Amusement parks, zoos and open-air museums

When you are on holiday, you want to have fun. A world of fun awaits you in the amusement parks in our region – your children will love the games and exciting activities. Time flies when you are having fun in those parks, and suddenly you may discover that the day is waning and it is time to leave. Do not worry! There are plenty of things to see and do to keep you busy whether you are staying for a few days or several weeks.

The distances between the various amusement parks in our region are short. A one and a half hour's drive to reach them is the maximum, and you can select from several different parks. It is a quick drive when you know that a day of exciting adventures lies ahead of you.

Legoland
Legoland is situated in Billund, only 90 km from Ulfborg. It is a world full of adventure built of 45 million LEGO bricks. Games and entertainment for the entire family.

Jesperhus
Jesperhus is situated on the island Mors, only 90 km from Ulfborg. It is a flower park with a large playground, a tropical indoor water complex and a tropical zoo with free-flying birds, butterflies and insects as well as an Aquarium and a Terrarium.

Hjerl Hede
Hjerl Hede is an open-air museum situated outside Vinderup, only 40 km from Ulfborg. It is a living and breathing museum with open workshops, a steam sawmill, a preserved stream train and an original settlement from the Stone Age.

Givskud Zoo
Givskud Zoo is situated at Give, only 90 km from Ulfborg. In the zoo you can see more than 1000 animals at close range. You can tour the park in your own car or by getting on one f the park's safari busses. You must be prepared to do part of the tour by foot.

Jyllands Park Zoo
Jyllands Park Zoo is situated near Herning, only 40 km from Ulfborg. It is Denmark's largest minizoo. More than 700 animals – from the smallest mouse to the tallest giraffe - and birds from all over the world inhabit the garden. The Pet Zoo offers children the opportunity to stroke and play with the animals. You are allowed to feed most of the animals with food bought in one of the zoo shops. Daily sea lion show and small amusement park.

Jyllands Akvariet
Jyllands Akvariet is situated in Thyborøn, only 50 km from Ulfborg. A day of great fun awaits the entire family. Are you brave enough to touch a shark, hold a crab or a starfish in the palm of your hand, pat a plaice on the back and meet the scowl of the angler fish through the glass of the tank? Furthermore, you can hunt for amber on our indoor beach.

Daugbjerg Kalkgruber
The oldest limestone mine in Denmark is situated at Viborg, only 60 km from Ulfborg. Descend into the atmosphere-filled pits, where the sound of hard-working miners and the screams of bats mingle with the visual impact of the collections of fossils, bats and other items from the miners' everyday life.

Fiske- og Familie Park West
Fiske- og Familie Park West is situated in Hee, only 15 km from Ulfborg.
